I adapted this aphorism a year or so ago about helping my leaders. The concept is to empower those around you to succeed. They are not on a quest to destroy the one ring...Help them by providing the tools and training necessary to win.
Make concepts simple, give easy to follow (and duplicate) steps for projects. See yourself as a facilitator not as the wise, old sage putting them through their trials. Learn the lesson from "Karate Kid". Mr. Miyagi taught Daniel through simple, common movements. He put the cookies on the bottom shelf so Daniel-son could succeed. We should do the same with our teams.
